WHEN A PELLET STOVE IS ECONOMICAL TO RUN
A pellet stove is economical to run when it turns the highest share of the energy in the pellets into heat. The figure that measures this is efficiency. Klover pellet stoves declare an efficiency between 91% and 95.4%, and all of them are rated in energy class A+.
The highest efficiency in the range, 95.4%, is declared by six pellet stoves with 7.8 kW of nominal heat output and 70 m² of heated surface area: KRONO 80s, KRONO 80s CARBON, KROS 80s, KLIN 80s, AURA 80s and CLASS 90s. All six work with the patented Pellet Cruise Control system, which adjusts the amount of pellets to the heat the home requires.
These are the values declared on the Klover technical data sheets. At home the result also depends on pellet quality, a compliant flue and the insulation of the building.

WHAT THE EFFICIENCY OF A PELLET STOVE MEASURES
Efficiency is the share of the energy in the pellets that the stove turns into useful heat for the room. An efficiency of 95.4% means that 95.4 parts out of 100 of the energy entering the brazier stay in the home, while the rest leaves through the flue with the fumes. For the same heat produced, a pellet stove with a higher efficiency burns fewer pellets.
Nominal heat output is a different quantity and should not be confused with efficiency. The 7.8 kW of KRONO 80s are the heat the pellet stove releases into the room, not the pellets it burns in an hour. Klover data sheets do not list an hourly consumption in kilograms: actual consumption depends on the output at which the stove runs, the hours of operation and the temperature set.
This is why a pellet stove that is economical to run is neither the smallest nor the most powerful, but the one that combines a high efficiency with an output suited to the area to be heated.
THE KLOVER PELLET STOVES THAT DECLARE 95.4%
KRONO 80s measures 48x52x100 cm and weighs 120 kg. It has a cast iron brazier, Pellet Cruise Control for stable combustion, Cyclone ventilation over 5 levels, Frontal Clean for daily cleaning and a Touch Screen remote control with programmable thermostat. The structure is in painted steel, in the Ivory, Bronze and Matt Black finishes. KRONO 80s CARBON declares the same values, with carbon ribbed glass.
CLASS 90s measures 50x54x108 cm and weighs 155 kg, with a self-cleaning brazier and an HD vermiculite chamber. It is offered in the Ivory, Bordeaux, Matt Black and Soap Stone finishes: the majolica version has a more classic look, while the Soap Stone version offers thermal inertia and a slow, enveloping release of heat.
AURA 80s measures 48x52x101 cm and weighs 125 kg, with a self-cleaning brazier, Frontal Clean and ductable Cyclone ventilation, in the Ivory, Bronze and Matt Black finishes. KROS 80s and KLIN 80s complete the group: 48x52x100 cm, 110 kg and a cast iron brazier.

HOW PELLET CRUISE CONTROL REDUCES PELLET CONSUMPTION
Pellet Cruise Control is the patented Klover system that automatically adjusts the amount of pellets to the actual heating demand of the home. Instead of working through constant switching on and off, a pellet stove with Pellet Cruise Control feeds fuel and air progressively and modulates its output continuously. Klover declares two effects: higher efficiency for the same output delivered and lower pellet consumption. The technology page also lists smoother, quieter operation, a longer life for the mechanical components and lower emissions.
The self-cleaning brazier works on the same combustion. With a partial, reverse rotation it cleans itself automatically in a few seconds and drops the residues into the ash compartment: clinker does not build up and combustion stays in optimal conditions without manual intervention. The same technology includes an anti-clogging system for the combustion air and ultra-fast ignition. Among the pellet stoves at 95.4%, the self-cleaning brazier is declared on CLASS 90s and AURA 80s.
On KRONO 80s, CLASS 90s and AURA 80s the combustion air is also controlled automatically, and the touch remote control with programmable thermostat makes it possible to set the times and temperature of the pellet stove.

AN ECONOMICAL PELLET STOVE FOR EVERY FLOOR AREA
Efficiency stays high across the range. MISS, with a compact structure suited to small spaces, declares 6.4 kW for 60 m², at 91.4%. ASTRA 100s and DIVA SLIM AIR 100s declare 9.7 kW for 90 m² at 94%, in a depth of 27 cm, a size that the ASTRA 100s data sheet indicates for corridors and small living rooms. LADY 11s declares 10.1 kW for 90 m² at 94.3%. OMEGA 120s and AURA 120s reach 11.7 kW for 110 m², again at 94%.
The declared heated surface area is a reference for choosing the output: how much a pellet stove actually heats depends on the insulation of the home and the climate zone. Klover Magazine has dedicated an article to choosing the kilowatts, on the 10 kW pellet stove.
