10 kW pellet stove: how many square metres it heats

A Klover pellet stove with a nominal heat output of 10 kW declares a heated surface area of 90 square metres. This is the value stated in the technical data sheets of VERTICAL 10s, VERTICAL 10s STONE, ONE 10s, SOFT 10s and SUPER 9s: five 10 kW models, all with an efficiency of 92%.

The same 90 square metres are reached by LADY 11s, with 10.1 kW and an efficiency of 94.3%, and by the 9.7 kW models with an efficiency of 94%: AURA 100s, the four versions of ASTRA 100s and the three of DIVA SLIM AIR 100s. Between 9.7 and 10.1 kW there are fourteen Klover pellet stoves, half of the twenty-eight in the catalogue.

The heated surface area is the value Klover declares in the data sheet of each model, and it is read together with the conditions of the house: the insulation of the building and the height of the ceilings change the output needed for the same number of square metres.

Klover pellet stoves are divided into four output bands, and for each band the technical data sheet pairs the nominal heat output with a heated surface area:

• 6.4 kW, 60 square metres: MISS, with an efficiency of 91.4%.
• 7.8 kW, 70 square metres: KRONO 80s, KRONO 80s CARBON, KROS 80s, KLIN 80s, AURA 80s, CLASS 90s, ONE 8s, SOFT 8s, OBLO' 8s and SUPER 7s, with efficiencies from 91 to 95.4%.
• From 9.7 to 10.1 kW, 90 square metres: fourteen models, from AURA 100s to LADY 11s, with efficiencies from 92 to 94.3%.
• 11.7 kW, 110 square metres: AURA 120s, OMEGA 120s and OMEGA 120s PLUS, with an efficiency of 94%.

The heated surface area grows with the output, from the 60 square metres of MISS to the 110 square metres of the 11.7 kW models. Within each band the declared surface is the same: what changes is the shape, the finishes and the way the heat reaches the room.

In the 10 kW band, Klover pellet stoves distribute heat in two ways. VERTICAL 10s, ONE 10s, SOFT 10s and SUPER 9s have adjustable front ventilation that can be switched off completely: with the ventilation off, the stove heats by natural convection, quietly and steadily.

On VERTICAL 10s and ONE 10s the heat passes through cast iron heat exchangers. On VERTICAL 10s the exchangers have sinusoidal fins, which enlarge the heat exchange surface and extend the diffusion of heat. The four stoves are controlled from a touchscreen remote control with built-in Wi-Fi.

AURA 100s, ASTRA 100s, DIVA SLIM AIR 100s and LADY 11s are fitted with Cyclone ventilation adjustable over 5 levels, which sets the flow of warm air into the room at five intensities.

Klover pellet stoves in the 10 kW band are fitted with the patented Pellet Cruise Control system, which progressively regulates the supply of pellets and air. Instead of working through continuous switching on and off or sudden changes of load, the stove keeps a stable and controlled combustion, with a reduction in pellet consumption.

The patented self-cleaning brazier keeps combustion constant over time. On SUPER 9s and SOFT 10s the combustion chamber is made of HD vermiculite, a material that according to the Klover data sheets increases efficiency and makes the flame brighter.

Twelve of the fourteen Klover pellet stoves in the 10 kW band can also send warm air to the neighbouring rooms. VERTICAL 10s is also available in a ducted version, ONE 10s allows ducted installation and the optional MULTI AIR kit. AURA 100s, ASTRA 100s and DIVA SLIM AIR 100s declare the option of ducted ventilation, LADY 11s a single ducted ventilation.

Ducting does not change the output: with a ducted pellet stove the model is chosen on the sum of the surfaces to be heated, the main room plus the connected ones. Beyond 90 square metres the range continues with AURA 120s, OMEGA 120s and OMEGA 120s PLUS, at 11.7 kW and 110 square metres, which allow double ducted ventilation.
