The brazier, the part that decides how the pellet burns

WHERE THE PELLET CATCHES FIRE

In a pellet stove the flame is not born everywhere. It is born in one place only: the brazier. It is a perforated tray, roughly as wide as a cup, fitted at the centre of the combustion chamber. The pellet falls into it from above, the air arrives through the holes, the fire lights there.

Everything else in the stove works to serve that point. The tank holds the pellet, a motor doses it, the fan brings the air, the exchanger collects the heat and passes it to the room. The brazier is the smallest part and the most stressed. It is also the only one that, when it stops working properly, takes everything else with it.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE HOLES CLOSE UP

The pellet burns well, but it does not burn away completely. It leaves light ash and small solid residues that settle on the bottom of the brazier and along its walls. Hour after hour the layer rises and the holes narrow.

Fewer free holes means less air to the flame. Combustion becomes incomplete: the flame lengthens, the colour turns towards dark orange, and part of the heat the pellet could have given stays locked in the residue instead of reaching the room. The more unburnt matter remains, the dirtier the brazier gets, the less air passes. It is a circle that tightens by itself.

In stoves with a fixed brazier the only remedy is your own hand: switch off, wait for it to cool, empty it, scrape it. A task that comes back often, almost always on the days when the stove should be running.

PARTIAL AND REVERSE ROTATION

The patented Klover self-cleaning brazier starts exactly here. The brazier is not fixed: it is mounted on a support that sets it in motion.

The rotation is partial, because it does not complete a full turn. And it is reverse, because it comes back. The short, alternating movement lets the residue fall into the ash pan evenly, without piling it up on one side. The holes are free again and the air goes back to passing where it should. Combustion stays complete, with very low emissions and steady performance over time.

The operation takes a few seconds and the stove carries it out on its own.

THE MOMENT OF CLEANING

During cleaning the fire goes out for a few moments, but the heat remains. The mass of the appliance keeps giving the room what it has stored, then the flame starts again.

The restart is handled by the ultra-fast ignition and the automatic calibration, which brings combustion back to the right point with no intervention. In everyday use the pause goes almost unnoticed.

WHAT CHANGES IN EVERYDAY USE

Less residue and less encrustation in the brazier. A flame that does not lose strength as the hours pass. An ash pan to be emptied when needed, not before every lighting.

The internal structure is designed to prevent the combustion air from clogging, so behaviour stays the same even in the most demanding conditions. And if the power is suddenly cut off, the system keeps operating in complete safety.
