HOW MUCH A WOOD BURNING COOKSTOVE HEATS
The Klover STAR 90 wood burning cookstove declares a nominal heat output of 11.5 kW, an efficiency of 85.1% and a heating area of 105 m². With the same fire, the STAR 90 heats the room, cooks on the top and bakes in the oven. The declared heating area of the STAR 90 applies with dry, good quality firewood, a compliant chimney flue and an averagely insulated house. HOW EFFICIENT IS A WOOD COOKSTOVE WITH 85.1% EFFICIENCY
Efficiency measures how much of the energy contained in the wood becomes useful heat. For the STAR 90 wood burning cookstove the declared efficiency is 85.1%: out of 100 parts of energy contained in the wood, 85.1 become useful heat for the house, the cooktop and the oven.
The efficiency of the STAR 90 depends on how the combustion chamber is built: in high resistance cast iron, with a manual grate shaker to manage the embers. The single air control, in stainless steel, regulates combustion with one command. The door with high temperature ceramic glass keeps the flame in view.
The hourly wood consumption is not a figure declared in the STAR 90 data sheet, because it depends on the type of wood, its moisture and how often the fire is loaded. The figure the data sheet declares to say how efficient the wood burning cookstove is, is the efficiency.
HOW TO COOK ON THE STAR 90 WOOD BURNING COOKSTOVE
On the STAR 90 there are three ways of cooking with the same fire. The enameled cast iron cooktop spreads heat evenly. The reversible grill in food grade enameled cast iron is removable and is used for direct cooking. The stainless steel oven has orbital cooking, for even results.
The oven of the STAR 90 measures 350x395x440 mm, in width, height and depth. In the lower part there is a large drawer on pull-out runners, for utensils. The overall size of the STAR 90 wood burning cookstove is 90x60x87 cm, in width, depth and height. The weight ranges from 230 kg for the STAR 90 and STAR 90 INOX to 240 kg for the STAR 90 CLASSIC, STAR 90 COUNTRY and STAR 90 MAIOLICA: a figure to assess with the technician, together with the floor that will hold the cookstove.
A MODERN OR TRADITIONAL STYLE WOOD COOKSTOVE
The six versions of the STAR 90 change the cladding, not the technical data. The STAR 90 comes in Matt Black, for contemporary kitchens and open spaces. The STAR 90 INOX has a body in satin stainless steel, for modern kitchens and seaside homes. The STAR 90 PLUS has a base with stoneware details.
For a wood cookstove with a traditional feel, the STAR 90 CLASSIC has Soap Stone effect cladding, designed for chalets, mountain homes and interiors with natural materials. The STAR 90 COUNTRY combines cast iron and stoneware with a satin brass handrail. A WOOD COOKSTOVE THAT ALSO HEATS THE RADIATORS
Alongside the cookstoves, Klover produces thermo-cookers: the thermo version of the cookstove, which in addition connects to the heating system and brings heat to the radiators. The Klover wood burning thermo-cookers are ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS, ALTEA COUNTRY and STORICA K-KP. All of them declare 8.4 kW of nominal heat output to water and 5.9 kW to the room, with an efficiency of 87.7%. The declared heating area is 190 m² for ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS and ALTEA COUNTRY and 160 m² for STORICA K-KP.
The Klover wood burning thermo-cookers have the Sicuro Top System, one of the Klover technologies: it works at zero pressure, on the bain-marie principle, and keeps the boiler body stable. The circulator is built in.
