QUIET PELLET STOVE: HOW IT WORKS
A quiet pellet stove is a stove whose front ventilation can be turned down or switched off completely, so that heat spreads through the room by natural convection. Among Klover pellet stoves, the models whose product sheet states this are nine: SOFT 8s, SOFT 10s, SUPER 7s, SUPER 9s, OBLÒ 8s, VERTICAL 10s, VERTICAL 10s STONE, ONE 8s and ONE 10s.
The nine pellet stoves state a nominal heat output of 7.8 kW or 10 kW, depending on the model, with an efficiency between 91% and 93%.
In natural convection, as the Klover technologies page describes it, warm air rises on its own while cooler air sinks and is slowly heated, with no fans, no forced air jets and no noise. The ONE 8s product sheet sums up the choice: fast performance with the front ventilation on, or maximum acoustic comfort with the ventilation switched off. The choice between the two modes is made on the same pellet stove.
WHICH KLOVER PELLET STOVES WORK WITHOUT VENTILATION
SOFT 8s states 7.8 kW, an efficiency of 93% and a heating area of 70 m². SOFT 10s states 10 kW, an efficiency of 92% and 90 m². On both SOFT pellet stoves the front ventilation can be turned down or switched off completely, and the SOFT 8s product sheet describes a softer, quiet and steady heat output.
SUPER 7s and SUPER 9s interpret the same Soft philosophy. SUPER 7s states 7.8 kW, an efficiency of 91% and 70 m²; SUPER 9s states 10 kW, an efficiency of 92% and 90 m². Both product sheets list Air-Soft technology and front ventilation that can be adjusted down to off. The SUPER 7s product sheet recommends it for intimate living areas and relaxation spaces.
OBLÒ 8s, with a round and compact design, states 7.8 kW, an efficiency of 93% and 70 m². With Air-Soft technology the front ventilation is turned down or switched off, and the OBLÒ 8s product sheet describes a gradual and steady heat distribution, with no noise or turbulence.
The SOFT 8s, SOFT 10s, SUPER 7s, SUPER 9s and OBLÒ 8s pellet stoves have a vermiculite HD combustion chamber, which according to the product sheets makes the flame brighter, and come in Avorio, Bronze and Matt Black finishes.
A QUIET PELLET STOVE THAT MAKES THE HEAT LAST LONGER
VERTICAL 10s and VERTICAL 10s STONE state 10 kW, an efficiency of 92% and 90 m², with quiet Air Soft ventilation that can be switched off. When the front ventilation is switched off, the VERTICAL pellet stove heats by natural convection.
Both VERTICAL pellet stoves have cast iron heat exchangers with sinusoidal fins, which according to the product sheets enlarge the heat exchange surface and extend the release of heat. VERTICAL 10s and VERTICAL 10s STONE weigh 200 kg. On both VERTICAL pellet stoves the combustion chamber is made of refractory material.
VERTICAL 10s STONE is clad in Soap Stone, which thanks to its high thermal inertia absorbs and releases heat slowly and evenly. VERTICAL 10s comes in Steel, Bronze, Matt Black, Avorio and Soap Stone finishes. Both VERTICAL pellet stoves are also available in a ducted version, with one or two outlets.
FAST HEAT OR MAXIMUM ACOUSTIC COMFORT: THE ONE SERIES
ONE 8s and ONE 10s are air pellet stoves with quiet front ventilation that can be switched off. ONE 8s states 7.8 kW, an efficiency of 93% and 70 m²; ONE 10s states 10 kW, an efficiency of 92% and 90 m². Both ONE pellet stoves weigh 200 kg and have cast iron heat exchangers.
With the front ventilation on, the ONE 8s product sheet speaks of immediate and controlled heat, and the ONE 10s product sheet of fast and even heat. On ONE 10s operation can be modulated down to maximum acoustic comfort, which is reached by switching off the ventilation.
ONE 8s and ONE 10s have a steel structure, in Avorio, Bronze and Matt Black finishes, and can also be installed in a ducted version.
WHAT WORKS AUTOMATICALLY IN A QUIET PELLET STOVE
On the nine pellet stoves in this article, combustion is managed by the patented Pellet Cruise Control system, which progressively regulates the supply of pellets and air. Among the advantages of Pellet Cruise Control, the Klover technologies page lists smoother and quieter operation and lower pellet consumption.
