WHICH PELLET STOVE TO CHOOSE FOR THE LIVING ROOM
A pellet stove for the living room is chosen on three points: the square meters to heat, the space the stove takes up and the presence it will have in the room where most of the day is spent. CLASS 90s is clad in majolica or in Soap Stone. OBLÒ 8s has a soft, circular shape and front ventilation that can be turned down or switched off.
The declared heating area applies with good quality pellets, a compliant flue and an averagely insulated home. When the living room is open to the kitchen, the square meters to count are those of the whole space. The final calculation is made by the technician on the real data of the home.
HOW MUCH SPACE A PELLET STOVE TAKES UP IN THE LIVING ROOM
In a living room the measurement that matters most is depth, because it is what projects into the room. ASTRA 100s GLASS measures 90x27x113 cm and declares 9.7 kW, 90 m² of heating area and an efficiency of 94%. The technical sheet recommends ASTRA 100s GLASS for hallways, compact open spaces and rooms where a minimal footprint is needed.
OMEGA 120s measures 53x57x108 cm, OBLÒ 8s 53x57x109 cm and CLASS 90s 50x54x108 cm. These are pellet stoves with an almost square footprint, which fit into a corner or along a stretch of living room wall.
ASTRA 100s GLASS offers the optional Top Exit, which the sheet describes as designed for versatile installation. The flue outlet diameter is 80 mm on all four models: it is the figure needed to check the connection to the flue.
SHAPES AND FINISHES: THE PELLET STOVE AS A PIECE OF FURNITURE
In the living room the pellet stove stays in view all year round, even when it is off. OMEGA 120s has a glass front and the steel finish in three colors: Avorio, Bronze and Matt Black. OMEGA 120s PLUS has the same curved line with full majolica cladding, in Avorio, Bordeaux and Matt Black, which according to the sheet adds a pleasant thermal inertia.
CLASS 90s comes in majolica, in Avorio, Bordeaux and Matt Black, or in Soap Stone, the natural stone that the sheet describes with a slow, enveloping release of heat. CLASS 90s declares 7.8 kW, 70 m² and an efficiency of 95.4%.
On the ASTRA 100s pellet stoves it is the front that changes. ASTRA 100s GRES has porcelain stoneware in the Gres White and Gres Black versions. ASTRA 100s GLASS has tempered glass in the Glass Black, Glass White and Carbon Glass versions, the last one with a vertical texture.
A QUIET PELLET STOVE FOR THE LIVING ROOM
In the living room the sound of the ventilation is noticeable too. OBLÒ 8s has Air-Soft technology, which makes it possible to reduce or fully switch off the front ventilation and let natural convection do the work: the sheet describes a gradual, steady release of heat, without noise or turbulence. OBLÒ 8s declares 7.8 kW, 70 m² and an efficiency of 93%.
On OMEGA 120s, ASTRA 100s GLASS and CLASS 90s the warm air comes out through the Cyclone ventilation with 5 levels, which makes it possible to dose the airflow in the room.
When the heat needs to reach beyond the living room, OMEGA 120s has two ducted outlets, while CLASS 90s and OBLÒ 8s have one. The route of the ducts is designed with the installer on the real floor plan of the home.
THE FIRE IN VIEW AND THE CONTROLS OF THE PELLET STOVE
In a pellet stove for the living room the fire is part of the furnishing. OMEGA 120s offers a wide, deep view of the flame thanks to its glass front. On all four models the combustion chamber is in vermiculite HD, which on the OBLÒ 8s sheet enhances the brightness of the flame and improves heat exchange.
OMEGA 120s, ASTRA 100s GLASS and OBLÒ 8s have the patented self-cleaning burn pot and the patented Pellet Cruise Control system, which stabilizes combustion and optimizes consumption. The controls of OMEGA 120s and ASTRA 100s GLASS are on the touch handheld remote with integrated chrono-thermostat; OBLÒ 8s has the touch handheld remote with integrated Wi-Fi, for control from a distance as well.
