HOW A WOOD-BURNING THERMO COOKER WITH BACK BOILER WORKS

A wood-burning thermo cooker is a wood cooker connected to the heating system: the fire that cooks on the hob and in the oven also heats the water that reaches the radiators. The Klover wood-burning thermo cookers are ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS, ALTEA COUNTRY and STORICA K-KP, and all of them declare 8.4 kW to water and 5.9 kW to the room, with an efficiency of 87.7%.

The two values of the wood-burning thermo cooker show where the heat goes. The 8.4 kW to water pass into the system and reach the radiators in the other rooms. The 5.9 kW to the room stay in the kitchen.

Every Klover wood-burning thermo cooker has an electronic control unit for precise control of the operating parameters. The data sheets of ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS and STORICA K-KP also list a standard circulator pump, which distributes the heat through the system. The flue outlet has a diameter of 150 mm and must be connected to a chimney flue that meets the regulations.

WHAT IS THE SICURO TOP SYSTEM

The Sicuro Top System is the Klover technology of the wood-burning thermo cookers ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS, ALTEA COUNTRY and STORICA K-KP. The Sicuro Top System uses the bain-marie principle: the thermo cooker integrates an open expansion tank inside and works at zero pressure, while the home heating system keeps a closed expansion tank.

With the Sicuro Top System the pressure in the boiler body of the thermo cooker always stays at zero, even when the water reaches boiling point. In that case an overflow pipe automatically discharges the excess water from the upper tank. The water is topped up by an automatic or manual device, depending on the model.

The advantage for installation is concrete: the Sicuro Top System allows a wood-burning thermo cooker to be connected to the heating system without an open expansion tank. Klover developed and tested the Sicuro Top System in its own workshops.

HOW MANY SQUARE METERS DOES A WOOD-BURNING THERMO COOKER HEAT

The Klover data sheets declare a heating surface of 190 m² for ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS and ALTEA COUNTRY and of 160 m² for STORICA K-KP. These are reference values: how much a wood-burning thermo cooker actually heats depends on the insulation of the house, the climate zone and the system it is connected to.

The three ALTEA models measure 110x60x87 cm and weigh 350 kg, with a combustion chamber of 260x420x445 mm. STORICA K-KP measures 100x60x87.5 cm and weighs 290 kg, with a combustion chamber of 260x400x440 mm.

STORICA K-KP has an enameled cast iron hob, a large oven, a handle in precision-cast steel and a built-in drawer to keep food warm.

HOW A PELLET THERMO COOKER WITH BACK BOILER WORKS

The pellet thermo cooker brings the same principle to pellets. The Klover pellet thermo cookers are the SMART models, in two widths: SMART 80 and SMART 80s measure 79x60x87.5 cm, SMART 120 and SMART 120s measure 120x60x87.5 cm. Each model comes in the BT, INOX and MAIOLICA versions.

SMART 80 and SMART 120 declare 19.1 kW to water and 3.5 kW to the room, with an efficiency of 88.1%. SMART 80s and SMART 120s declare 11.5 kW to water and 3.3 kW to the room, with an efficiency of 94%. All SMART pellet thermo cookers list a heating surface of 210 m² and energy class A+.

Every SMART has a 32 kg pellet tank, a touchscreen display, an electronic control unit and a hydraulic kit with a built-in circulator pump. The flue outlet has a diameter of 100 mm and can exit from the top or the back of the thermo cooker.

HOW COOKING WORKS ON A KLOVER THERMO COOKER

On the three ALTEA models the hob is made of enameled cast iron or glass ceramic, as preferred, and distributes heat evenly. The oven of ALTEA, ALTEA PLUS and ALTEA COUNTRY is lit, and the double-glazed doors reduce heat loss.

On the three ALTEA models the air regulation is also automatic, for steady and long-lasting combustion while cooking.

All SMART pellet thermo cookers have an enameled cast iron hob, which spreads heat evenly. The data sheets of SMART 120 BT and SMART 120s BT also list a built-in stainless steel oven.

WHICH FINISHES DO KLOVER THERMO COOKERS HAVE

ALTEA comes in the Matt Black finish. ALTEA PLUS has six finishes: Matt Black, Avorio, Bordeaux, Forum Beige, Silver and Saxum. ALTEA COUNTRY has a textured stoneware cladding in the Sahara finish, with a steel base. STORICA K-KP is clad in majolica, in the colors Avorio, Saxum, Forum Beige, Silver, Nero Lucido and Bordeaux.

The SMART BT models are made of painted steel, in the colors Crema, Rosso and Black. The SMART INOX models are made entirely of stainless steel. The SMART MAIOLICA models are clad in majolica, in the colors Avorio, Saxum, Forum Beige, Silver, Bordeaux and Nero Lucido.
