WHAT A WOOD BURNING INSET STOVE WITH FANS IS

A wood burning inset stove with fans is a closed firebox with a glass door, designed to be recessed: inside a masonry fireplace, into a wall or into a piece of furniture. The fans push the air heated around the firebox into the room. Klover makes two wood burning inserts with fans, STARBOX 650s and STARBOX 750s, which the technical sheet rates at 7.7 kW and 8.4 kW nominal heat output on wood, with 92% efficiency.

On both STARBOX inserts the ventilation is twin and front-facing: two fans distribute the heat evenly and quietly. The four-sided front frame closes the edge between the insert and the wall, and the sheet describes STARBOX 650s as suitable for integration into a wall or into furniture.

STARBOX 650s and STARBOX 750s belong to the family of Klover fireplaces, together with the wood burning monobloc fireplaces and the pellet fireplaces.

HOW MUCH SPACE A WOOD BURNING INSERT HEATS

STARBOX 650s is rated at 7.7 kW with a heating surface of 75 m². STARBOX 750s is rated at 8.4 kW and 95 m². Efficiency is 92% for both wood burning inserts.

The heating surface is an indicative value, which applies with dry wood, a compliant chimney flue and an averagely insulated home. Volume counts as much as floor area: a high ceiling needs more heat for the same square meters, and the final calculation is made by the technician on the real data of the home.

The declared overall dimensions are 67x42x49 cm for STARBOX 650s, with a weight of 100 kg, and 70x45x54 cm for STARBOX 750s, with a weight of 110 kg. The flue outlet has a diameter of 130 mm on both models: this is the figure needed to check the connection of the insert to the existing chimney flue.

DUCTED WOOD BURNING INSERT: HEAT IN OTHER ROOMS

A ducted wood burning insert sends part of the hot air to other rooms through ducts, instead of leaving it all in the room with the fire. STARBOX 650s is prepared for twin ducting; STARBOX 750s is prepared for twin rear ducting.

Prepared means that the STARBOX insert is ready to be connected to two ducts. The route of the ducts, their length and the rooms to be served are designed with the installer, on the real floor plan of the house, because the route of the air decides how much of the heat reaches its destination.

With ducting, the wood burning insert with fans works like a small warm air heating system: the fire stays in the living room, and the heat also reaches the nearby rooms.

HOW WOOD BURNS INSIDE A STARBOX INSERT

The combustion chamber of STARBOX 650s and STARBOX 750s is made of Keramik HD refractory, a high-density material that stores heat and keeps the firebox temperature high. Wood combustion is indirect, with a bed of embers that keeps the flame steady and clean.

On STARBOX 650s the combustion air is adjusted with a single control, one gesture to dose the fire; on STARBOX 750s the combustion air adjustment is described as simple and precise. The handle of both is made of investment-cast steel.

The lower frame is removable. On STARBOX 650s it allows lighter installations and easier maintenance; on STARBOX 750s it also allows three-sided installation or a custom recess. STARBOX 750s also has panoramic glass, for a wide view of the fire.

INSERT OR MONOBLOC FIREPLACE: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE

The wood burning insert is a compact firebox to be recessed. The monobloc is a complete closed fireplace, larger in size, around which the cladding is built. They are two answers to two different projects: a fireplace or a wall to be fitted out, or a fire feature to be designed from scratch in a large living area.

The Klover wood burning monobloc is FRONTAL BLOK 950: 12.5 kW, 85.2% efficiency, heating surface of 120 m², 107x55x178 cm for 400 kg. It has a panoramic ceramic glass lift-up door, an airtight structure with a dedicated combustion air intake and four outlets for natural convection or ducting.

ORION 800 declares the same 12.5 kW, the same efficiency and the same 120 m² in 89x56x154 cm for 325 kg, with glass that opens upwards or sideways and ducting to up to four rooms. On both, the 200 mm flue outlet is placed on top or at the back.

WHAT ABOUT A PELLET INSERT? THE RECESSED PELLET FIREPLACE

For a pellet insert, Klover makes WAVE 11s, a pellet fireplace designed to sit flush with the wall or inside existing recesses, with an adjustable frame. The sheet declares 10.1 kW, 92% efficiency, a heating surface of 91 m², energy class A+, 78x60x75 cm for 170 kg and an 80 mm flue outlet.

WAVE 11s has the patented self-cleaning burn pot, the patented Pellet Cruise Control system for combustion, the touch handheld remote with integrated chrono-thermostat and Cyclone ventilation with 5 levels. The Multi-Air version is the one for dedicated ducting. The steel front comes in Bronze and Matt Black finishes.

The complete sheets of STARBOX 650s, STARBOX 750s, FRONTAL BLOK 950 and WAVE 11s, with all technical data, are on klover.it: a quote can be requested from every product page.
