WHAT MATERIALS KLOVER WOOD STOVES ARE CLAD IN

On the product sheets of the Klover wood stoves MISS WOOD, OLYMPIA, SWISS and VENUS 110s PLUS, the cladding is declared in four materials: majolica, natural Soap Stone, painted steel and technical stoneware. Cast iron is the material of the top and the base of MISS WOOD and OLYMPIA, the two Klover wood stoves offered in three different claddings.

MISS WOOD declares a nominal heat output on wood of 5.9 kW, an efficiency of 85.7% and a heated surface area of 60 m², in a footprint of 50x54x75 cm. OLYMPIA, with the oven above the firebox, declares 9.4 kW, an efficiency of 85.2% and 100 m², in 50x54x125 cm.

On MISS WOOD and on OLYMPIA these figures are identical across the three versions. The cladding changes the look of the wood stove, the weight and the way the heat passes into the room, not the output with which the stove heats.

MAJOLICA WOOD STOVES: MISS WOOD PLUS AND OLYMPIA PLUS

The Klover wood stoves in majolica are MISS WOOD PLUS and OLYMPIA PLUS. On both, the majolica cladding is available in the colours Matt Black, Bordeaux and Avorio.

The MISS WOOD PLUS product sheet describes majolica as a material able to hold heat and spread it gradually, with a soft and prolonged release. The OLYMPIA PLUS product sheet speaks of handcrafted majolica and of a gradual diffusion of heat. The glossy surface of the majolica sits next to the cast iron of the top and the base.

MISS WOOD PLUS weighs 130 kg. OLYMPIA PLUS weighs 160 kg and has a stainless steel oven of 310x350x410 mm above the firebox. Anyone looking for ceramic or majolica wood stoves therefore finds two formats: the compact one of MISS WOOD PLUS and the tall one, with the oven, of OLYMPIA PLUS.

SOAP STONE WOOD STOVES: THE NATURAL STONE

MISS WOOD STONE and OLYMPIA STONE are the two Klover wood stoves clad in natural Soap Stone.

The OLYMPIA STONE product sheet states that the Soap Stone cladding holds heat and releases it gradually, prolonging its diffusion over time. The MISS WOOD STONE product sheet defines Soap Stone as an elegant, textured material with strong thermal capacity.

MISS WOOD STONE weighs 130 kg, OLYMPIA STONE weighs 160 kg. The product sheets indicate modern, rustic or organic-style rooms for MISS WOOD STONE, and mountain settings and contemporary interiors for OLYMPIA STONE: in all of them Soap Stone brings the texture of stone into view next to the flame.

WHERE THE CAST IRON IS IN A KLOVER WOOD STOVE

Anyone looking for a cast iron wood stove finds the cast iron, on the Klover wood stoves MISS WOOD and OLYMPIA, in the top and in the base. On MISS WOOD, MISS WOOD STONE and MISS WOOD PLUS the product sheet describes the cast iron top as solid, hard-wearing and able to give constant heat. The cast iron base gives the wood stove stability.

On OLYMPIA, OLYMPIA STONE and OLYMPIA PLUS the top is in enamelled cast iron, declared hard-wearing and with high thermal output, and the base is in cast iron.

The cast iron top and base are declared on all three versions of MISS WOOD and of OLYMPIA, whatever the cladding: majolica, Soap Stone or painted steel.

PAINTED STEEL AND TECHNICAL STONEWARE: THE OTHER CLADDINGS

MISS WOOD and OLYMPIA, in the versions that carry only the family name, have a painted steel cladding in the Matt Black finish. The OLYMPIA product sheet describes painted steel as elegant, linear and easy to clean. MISS WOOD weighs 125 kg, OLYMPIA weighs 155 kg.

SWISS has a cladding in high-density technical stoneware and a micro-perforated steel top, which favours the natural convection of the air. SWISS declares a nominal heat output on wood of 8.7 kW in 48.4x49.6x116 cm, for 145 kg. The VENUS 110s PLUS wood stove also has a technical stoneware cladding, which the product sheet describes as hard-wearing, elegant and natural to the touch.

WHAT IS INSIDE: KERAMIK HD REFRACTORY AND CERAMIC GLASS

The cladding is the part of the wood stove that is seen. Inside, MISS WOOD, OLYMPIA and SWISS have a combustion chamber in Keramik HD refractory, declared highly efficient. The combustion chamber of MISS WOOD measures 360x365x380 mm, that of OLYMPIA 350x365x380 mm, that of SWISS 340x460x254 mm.

On MISS WOOD, OLYMPIA and SWISS the flame is seen through a ceramic glass resistant to high temperatures, and the handle is in investment-cast steel. The flue outlet of MISS WOOD and of OLYMPIA has a diameter of 130 mm: every wood stove must be connected to a compliant chimney, whatever the cladding.

Majolica, Soap Stone, painted steel and technical stoneware are the claddings of Klover wood stoves; cast iron, Keramik HD refractory and ceramic glass are the materials that work with the fire.
